Hi, I have just installed Vista (on a basic disc) as dual boot with XP (which is on a dynamic disc) on my computer and when it gets past the logon the display becomes 4 lines of rubbish at the bottom of both of my screens.
If I attempt to boot in low resolution (640x480) mode I get the same result When I boot in safe mode I get a display. If I try to update the drivers I get a message that I already have the best drivers. If I try to install drivers from the supplied CD the drivers icon does not work
I am using an Albatron fx5200 display card on a KM4M motherboard with an AMD XP2000+ processor amd 1GB of ram. The on board video is disabled and the two monitors work with no problems in XP.

Fx5200 on KM4M - video severely corrupt
What video card?

Sorry, I didn't see it in the subject. I don't know if you went to the manufacturer's website, but according to the Albatron website the card uses the nVidia driver. Their latest entry for a driver update is 11/29/05, which is certainly not up to date or for Vista. Try the nVidia website for the latest Vista beta driver and see if that works.

I've loaded the latest Vista driver from nvidea but it didn't make any difference, I still only get 4 lines of pixels at the bottom of both my screens when I boot normally or in low-res mode. I'll try disabling drivers 'til I get a result. I tried posting in case it was a known problem. No use re-inventing the wheel! I will come back if I find anything.

Hi, update: My video came up after about 10 minutes, I got the you've got two displays how do you want to arrange them wizard which set up my screens side by side and then told me that I could adjust my settings in Control Panel > Display Settings. If you go into classic view there is no Display Settings, you can only get at it as far as I can see from the Control Panel Home > Appearance and Personalization > Adjust Screen Resolution. It would br nice also if you could rotate the image on your screen there!
Apart from that so far so good. Thanks for your help.
